University of Vermont to Compete for Individual Biomedical Research Awards

May 01, 2025 - The Hartwell Foundation is pleased to announce that the University of Vermont will take part in the 2025 competition for Hartwell Individual Biomedical Research Awards as a limited participant.

The Awards provide funding to individual researchers for three years at $100,000 direct cost per year to support early-stage, cutting-edge biomedical research with the potential to benefit children in the United States. Only researchers nominated by a Participating Institution selected by The Hartwell Foundation are eligible to compete for an Individual Award.

Every year, the Hartwell Foundation names its Top Ten Centers of Biomedical Research in the United States, inviting each center to nominate up to three individuals for a Hartwell Individual Biomedical Research Award. From time-to-time, the Foundation may also invite an institution for limited participation, with up to two nominations. The University of Vermont joins fifteen other institutions participating in the 2025 Hartwell competition.
